XRP Ledger Developers Issue Second Fix for Lending Protocol
XRP Ledger lending protocol — Developers on the XRP Ledger have published a second amendment to repair a critical flaw in its upcoming native lending protocol before the feature goes live.
The amendment, known as fixNFTokenRemint, addresses a vulnerability in the protocol’s design for uncollateralized lending. The flaw could have allowed a malicious actor to create an infinite supply of a specific type of loan obligation, undermining the system’s integrity.
This is the second fix proposed for the “XLS-66d” lending standard. The original amendment introducing the lending feature itself is still awaiting approval from network validators, a process that typically takes about two weeks. The new repair amendment will follow the same approval process.
The native lending protocol is a significant upgrade for the XRP Ledger, aiming to enable direct borrowing and lending of the XRP token and other issued assets without requiring collateral, a feature not natively supported on the network until now.
