Charles Hoskinson Develops New Programming Language for Cardano
programming language for Cardano — Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson announced he is personally developing a new programming language for the network, designed to bundle user transaction intents with cryptographic proofs of execution.
Hoskinson stated on social media platform X that he is working on the project with Input Output Global engineer Lucas Rosa. The language aims to be the first to combine transaction requests with proof-carrying data and Groth16 zero-knowledge proofs, allowing applications to execute user intents and efficiently verify that all conditions were met.
The founder has not yet disclosed a name for the language, released any public specifications or code, or provided a timeline for when developers might be able to use it. The announcement highlights ongoing efforts to expand Cardano’s technical capabilities and developer toolkit.
Cardano’s native token, ADA, was trading around $0.38 at the time of the announcement. The development represents a significant technical initiative led directly by the blockchain’s creator, focusing on enhancing how smart contracts and decentralized applications can process and verify complex transaction logic on the network.
