Fidelity report highlights Solana resilience but flags decentralization concerns

Fidelity report — Asset manager Fidelity has published a report stating that the Solana blockchain has made significant progress in network health but still faces areas of concern that require monitoring.
The report from Fidelity’s Center for Applied Technology (FCAT) noted that Solana has had no reported mainnet outages in two years. It highlighted improvements in economic security, supported by substantial staking participation and validator incentives, as well as performance gains from low latency and inexpensive transactions.
However, the analysis pointed to several risks that could threaten the network’s resilience. These include concentrations in stake among a small number of validator identities and operators, as well as centralization risks in hosting and client software.
The report concluded that while Solana’s fundamentals support practical use at scale, these areas surrounding decentralization warrant continued observation to ensure long-term network stability.
