Interactive Brokers expands crypto services with Ethereum staking

Interactive Brokers has expanded its cryptocurrency offerings by enabling eligible clients to stake Ethereum directly through its platform, utilizing infrastructure from Zerohash.
The new service is accessible via the brokerage’s Client Portal, allowing users to earn staking rewards on their ETH holdings. This move integrates a core DeFi function into a traditional financial interface, broadening access for the firm’s client base.
Zerohash, a regulated crypto infrastructure provider, is facilitating the staking operations behind the scenes. The partnership aims to provide a compliant and streamlined staking experience for Interactive Brokers’ users.
The expansion follows Interactive Brokers’ gradual foray into digital assets, which previously included cryptocurrency trading. Adding Ethereum staking represents a significant step in offering yield-generating services alongside simple asset custody and execution.
