BlackRock Deepens Tokenization Strategy with Ondo Integration
BlackRock tokenization — BlackRock is expanding its tokenization efforts by integrating its BUIDL fund with Ondo Finance, a move that brings more of the asset manager’s products onchain.
The integration allows Ondo to use BlackRock’s USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL) as the primary backing asset for its U.S. Treasury-backed token, OUSG. This follows BlackRock’s earlier move to make BUIDL shares available on the Ethereum blockchain.
Ondo Finance stated the partnership provides its users with “enhanced liquidity and transparency” for its yield-generating tokenized Treasury product. The firm’s OUSG token is designed to offer exposure to short-term U.S. Treasury bonds.
Institutional Tokenization Momentum
The collaboration underscores the accelerating pace at which major financial institutions are building blockchain-based products. BlackRock CEO Larry Fink has previously highlighted tokenization as a major future trend for financial markets.
