The update includes a new “assumeutxo” feature designed to accelerate the initial block download and verification process for new nodes. This change allows nodes to skip verifying the entire blockchain history from scratch if they trust a recent snapshot, significantly reducing sync times.

Other notable changes affect wallet functionality. The update modifies how wallets create transactions to prepare for future protocol upgrades, specifically changes to transaction fees and the potential deprecation of certain legacy address formats.
