Bitcoin Price Steadies Following Federal Reserve Interest Rate Hike

Federal Reserve interest rate hike — Bitcoin‘s price stabilized around $75,800 after initial volatility following the Federal Reserve’s decision to raise interest rates for the first time since 2023.
The Fed increased its benchmark rate to a range of 3.75% to 4%, a move that was widely anticipated by markets. Bitcoin dipped to around $75,355 shortly after the announcement before recovering most losses over a 24-hour period, though it remains down nearly 4% over the past week.
Fed Chair Kevin Warsh, speaking after the decision, stated that combating inflation remains the central bank’s top priority. He noted that recent inflation readings have not shown meaningful improvement, calling the rate hike a “sober, serious, responsible decision.” Warsh declined to comment on pressure from President Donald Trump, who has publicly advocated for lower rates.
The report notes that Bitcoin generally performs better in a low-interest-rate environment, as increased liquidity can flow into the asset. The current economic backdrop includes an affordability crisis and rising oil prices, factors that compound inflationary pressures.
