Bitcoin ETFs See $636 Million Outflow as October Flows Turn Negative

Bitcoin ETFs — U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded a net outflow of $635.6 million on Thursday, marking the largest single-day redemption for the products so far in October and pushing the month’s cumulative flows back into negative territory.

The substantial outflow, reported by Decrypt, has erased earlier monthly gains, leaving October with a net loss of approximately $176 million. The data indicates a significant shift in investor sentiment toward the funds after a period of inflows.

The report also noted outflows from spot Ethereum and Solana ETFs on the same day, suggesting a broader pullback from crypto investment products. The move comes amid a period of relative price stability for Bitcoin, which was trading around $81,000 at the time of publication.

While the ETFs have seen significant inflows since their launch in early 2024, the recent data highlights the ongoing volatility in investor appetite. The outflows represent a notable reversal from the consistent inflows seen through much of the summer and early autumn.
