Bitcoin Holds Above $81,000 as Oil Prices Reach Six-Month High

Bitcoin holds above $81,000 — Bitcoin maintained a price above $81,000 on October 23 as Brent crude oil surged above $116 per barrel, hitting its highest level since late April.
The rise in oil prices contributed to a broader market backdrop where traditional equities face a historically weak seasonal period. Ryan Detrick, chief market strategist at Carson Group, noted that late October is often a difficult time for stocks, though such lows can sometimes precede a buying period.
In fixed income markets, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield edged higher, recovering slightly from a significant 19 basis point plunge the previous day. That prior drop was the largest single-day decline since the banking crisis of March 2023.
The concurrent moves in commodities, bonds, and risk assets highlight the interconnected macro environment in which Bitcoin is currently trading, with the leading cryptocurrency demonstrating resilience above a key psychological level.
