MiCA-regulated USDAU stablecoin — European stablecoin issuer AllUnity has launched USDAU, a new U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin regulated under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework.

The token is designed to maintain a 1:1 peg to the dollar through segregated reserves and will be available on the Ethereum, Solana, Base, Tempo, Arc, and Polygon blockchains. USDAU becomes the fourth fiat-backed stablecoin from AllUnity, joining its existing euro (EURAU), Swiss franc (CHFAU), and Swedish krona (SEKAU) tokens.

The launch enters a stablecoin market overwhelmingly dominated by dollar-pegged tokens, which account for more than 99% of the sector’s roughly $291 billion capitalization. The European Central Bank has previously warned that extensive use of dollar stablecoins in European finance could increase dependency on the U.S. currency.

AllUnity CEO Alexander Höptner argued that the primary issue is not the dollar itself, but the flow of dollar liquidity through unregulated, offshore issuers. He stated that USDAU brings dollar liquidity inside Europe’s regulatory perimeter, providing European companies with compliant access to dollars for global trade and payments.
