Pics-20

Swiss Bitcoin Pay, a non-custodial payment processor, has temporarily shut down its servers after a likely breach of its internal systems on Monday, September 14, 2026.

The Switzerland-based company stated that while user funds are safe, a malicious actor may have accessed customer data including email addresses, Bitcoin addresses, transaction history, and hashed passwords. The firm is investigating the incident and securing its infrastructure.

This breach is the latest in a series of security incidents affecting crypto and fintech firms in recent weeks. Revolut and Trezor have both recently disclosed separate data breaches involving customer information.

Swiss Bitcoin Pay processes Bitcoin payments for businesses using both on-chain and Lightning Network transactions. The company assured users that any amounts owed would be fully returned.
