zk.money Returns to Offer Ethereum Users Private Payments

zk.money returns — Aztec Labs has relaunched its zk.money wallet after a three-year hiatus, providing Ethereum users with a new option for private payments and transfers.

The self-custodial wallet leverages the Aztec Network to conceal transaction amounts, recipient addresses, and user balances. Users can send payments via readable names or links, masking the on-chain details.

Deposits of DAI, USDC, or USDT must originate from the public Ethereum mainnet and remain publicly traceable. Once inside the zk.money system, however, subsequent activity is private. The wallet automatically converts USDC and USDT deposits to DAI.

The current Alpha release imposes limits, capping individual deposits, payments, and withdrawals below $2,500. Aztec Labs warns that the software carries security risks as it has not undergone a full audit and notes that addresses are screened under a sanctions compliance policy.
