Wealthy Investors Embrace Crypto Despite Adviser Caution, OKX Raises Funds

rope-and-some-sand

wealthy investors crypto — A new survey shows a majority of affluent investors in major economies hold digital assets, often outpacing their financial advisers’ comfort level, as capital continues to flow into the crypto sector with OKX securing new funding.

A CoinShares survey of over 2,200 investors with at least $500,000 in assets found crypto ownership ranges from 54% in Sweden to about 70% in the US, UK, Germany, and Switzerland. On average, crypto makes up roughly 10% of these portfolios, with most existing holders planning to increase their exposure in 2026. However, many investors described their financial advisers as overly cautious about digital assets.

Separately, crypto exchange OKX has extended a funding round, raising an undisclosed amount at a $25 billion valuation. Participants included SC Ventures, Qube Research & Technologies, Ripple, and Circle. This follows a $200 million investment from Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) in March.

The capital movements come as Bitcoin faces macroeconomic headwinds, with analysts noting elevated Treasury yields above 5% present resistance for risk assets. Meanwhile, firm Strategy spent over six times more capital last week buying back its own preferred stock (STRC) than it did purchasing Bitcoin.
