MoonPay and Upbit parent Dunamu partner on stablecoin payments and GIWA chain

MoonPay and Dunamu, the parent company of South Korean crypto exchange Upbit, have agreed to explore a strategic collaboration focused on stablecoin payments and expanding the reach of Dunamu’s Ethereum Layer 2 network, GIWA.
The partnership, announced on October 21, 2026, will see the two firms jointly develop stablecoin payment solutions. The goal is to leverage their respective expertise in fiat-to-crypto onramps and exchange infrastructure to create more accessible payment methods.
Beyond payments, the companies plan to explore ways to broaden global access to the GIWA chain. This Ethereum Layer 2 network, developed by Dunamu, is designed to offer faster and cheaper transactions, and the collaboration with MoonPay could help drive its adoption outside of its initial markets.
The move signals a continued trend of major crypto service providers forming alliances to build integrated financial ecosystems, combining on-ramps, trading, and scalable blockchain infrastructure.
