AI Models Drive Quantum-Safe Bitcoin Costs Down Over 75%
An AI-powered competition has drastically reduced the projected cost of creating a quantum-resistant transaction on Bitcoin, cutting estimates by more than three-quarters in recent weeks.
According to organizers from StarkWare, Yukon Research, and Eigen Labs, the estimated cost for building such a transaction has fallen from approximately $320 to around $67. The open competition challenged participants to develop a ‘pay-to-sudoku’ circuit, a novel method for constructing quantum-safe Bitcoin transactions.
The sharp reduction in cost was driven by AI agents topping the competition’s leaderboards. The event highlights how machine learning models are accelerating the development of post-quantum cryptography solutions for the Bitcoin network, a crucial frontier as quantum computing advances.
While the winning solutions remain in the testing and evaluation phase, the rapid progress demonstrated suggests AI could be instrumental in making quantum-resistant Bitcoin infrastructure economically viable far sooner than previously anticipated.
