Bybit to launch European super-app with stocks and derivatives

European super-app — Cryptocurrency exchange Bybit is preparing to launch a comprehensive financial “super-app” for the European market, offering access to stocks and derivatives alongside digital assets.
CEO Ben Zhou revealed the plans, stating the company has already secured an electronic money institution (EMI) license in Austria. The exchange is also in the final stages of obtaining a Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) license, a key regulatory approval that would allow it to offer a wider range of investment services across the European Union.
The move represents a significant expansion for Bybit beyond its core crypto spot and derivatives trading business. The planned super-app aims to create a single platform where European users can manage both traditional and digital asset investments.
This strategy aligns with a broader trend of crypto-native firms seeking to bridge the gap with traditional finance by obtaining necessary regulatory licenses to offer a fuller suite of financial products.
