Cysic suspends bridge after attacker mints tokens and moves $727,000 to Ethereum

Cysic suspends bridge — The Cysic protocol has suspended its bridge after an attacker minted tokens and bridged approximately $727,000 in proceeds to the Ethereum network.
The incident involved the unauthorized minting of 10 million CYS tokens. The attacker then moved the proceeds across chains using the Mayan, deBridge, and SWFT’s Bridgers cross-chain services to reach Ethereum.
In response, the Cysic team has taken its bridge offline to investigate the exploit and prevent further unauthorized transfers. The suspension halts all bridging activity on the protocol while security measures are reviewed.
The event highlights ongoing security challenges within the cross-chain infrastructure sector, where bridges handling significant liquidity remain prime targets for exploits.
