Chainalysis cybersecurity incident exposes non-sensitive customer data

Chainalysis cybersecurity incident — Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis has disclosed a cybersecurity incident, confirming that some non-sensitive customer data was exposed.
The company stated in a blog post on Friday that the exposed data included user IDs, names, and email addresses. It emphasized that its investigation has found no evidence of unauthorized access to sensitive investigation content, authentication credentials, or session tokens.
Chainalysis said it has engaged third-party cybersecurity experts and is using large language models to review and strengthen its security defenses. The firm clarified that this incident is not related to the recent major hack of the Binance exchange.
The disclosure follows recent Chainalysis research highlighting the scale of crypto hacks, including a post on X stating suspected North Korea-linked hacks account for nearly 89% of reported crypto hack losses this year.
