Strike CEO Mallers Says Bitcoin and AI Can Free Humans From Bad Money

Bitcoin and AI — Strike CEO Jack Mallers argued that Bitcoin’s properties as hard money, combined with artificial intelligence, have the potential to give humans back their time and energy for creative pursuits.

Speaking on Bitcoin Magazine’s TV show, Mallers contended that “bad money” robs people of their time, forcing them to work longer for basic needs, whereas “good money” rewards effort. He described Bitcoin as a form of good money that, alongside AI, could free people from monetary “drudgery.” Mallers cited the Wright brothers’ innovation under a gold standard as a historical example of creation under sound money.

His comments followed Bitcoin’s strong performance in August 2026, its best month that year, closing near $78,000. The rally was fueled by U.S. Treasury buyback actions and concerns over U.S. debt surpassing $40 trillion, which Mallers called “unsustainable” and inherently inflationary.

Recent economic data showed U.S. core inflation rose more than expected in August, amidst expectations the Federal Reserve would raise interest rates to combat rising prices.
