Uniswap Launches Aggregator Hooks for Cross-Platform Trading

Uniswap Labs has launched aggregator hooks for its upcoming v4 protocol, enabling trades to be routed through liquidity on external decentralized exchanges.

The new feature, now live on the Ethereum, Base, and Robinhood Chain testnets, allows Uniswap v4 pools to source liquidity from other platforms. This marks a significant step in the protocol’s evolution, moving it from a standalone automated market maker to a more integrated liquidity hub.

Aggregator hooks are a key component of the v4 upgrade, which introduces a customizable hook system for pool creators. By tapping into external liquidity, Uniswap aims to offer users better prices and reduced slippage on large trades, directly competing with other aggregation services.

The launch follows a community vote that approved the deployment of v4’s code to the three test networks. A full mainnet launch is expected later this year, pending a successful security audit and the activation of Ethereum’s upcoming Dencun upgrade.
