Los Angeles Bitcoin Merchants List Grows to 425 Cafés and Stores

Los Angeles Bitcoin Merchants — Los Angeles County now hosts 425 businesses that accept bitcoin as payment, with a new directory highlighting local favorites like Café de Leche and Modu Café in Highland Park. The list, sourced from community-maintained BTC Map, showcases a growing merchant adoption hub within California’s crypto scene.
Among the highlighted locations is Café de Leche, a coffee shop with multiple outlets where one campus manager reportedly handles around 15 bitcoin transactions weekly. Another featured spot is Modu Café, a Korean-inspired bakery where the owner accepts bitcoin via a Square terminal.
The directory was compiled from a listener submission to the Bitcoin And podcast. It includes 82 entries under ‘Coffee, Bakery & Sweets’ alone, with businesses spread across areas from Alhambra and Glendale to Long Beach and central Los Angeles.
Initiative organizers noted that mainstream AI chatbots often incorrectly report no local bitcoin acceptance, and they aim to improve this data by publishing verified lists. The effort encourages bitcoin users to submit their preferred shops to expand the directory’s coverage further.
