US bans DeepSeek — The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has ordered federal civilian agencies to remove all products from Chinese AI firm DeepSeek over national security concerns, while Swiss-Asian crypto partnerships advance.

The DHS directive, filed on Monday, mandates the removal of DeepSeek products, including those from affiliates and third-party services using its implementations, and prohibits new purchases. The agency warned that using DeepSeek could expose sensitive government and citizen information to China.

Meanwhile, Swiss-Asian crypto ties are deepening. Singapore-based Fintonia Group, the firm behind Europe’s only spot Bitcoin ETF, is expanding its presence, and Switzerland is partnering with Vietnam on crypto technology initiatives.

In related Asian market news, Japanese financial giant SBI has partnered with South Korea‘s Shinhan Card to test yen stablecoins for travel payments and cross-border trade. Furthermore, Japanese Bitcoin treasury firm Metaplanet is set to acquire a 93.7% stake in Nasdaq-listed gaming firm Super League via a 2,100 BTC deal.
