2,100 Bitcoin — Stockholders of Nasdaq-listed Super League have approved the definitive deal with Japan’s Metaplanet, which will see the U.S. company acquire 2,100 BTC and $2.5 million in cash in exchange for a controlling equity stake.

The proposals, passed at Super League’s annual meeting on Friday and disclosed Monday, pave the way for the company to be renamed Superplanet, Inc. and trade under the ticker “SUPA.” Metaplanet will contribute the Bitcoin and cash through its U.S. subsidiary in exchange for nearly 44.9 million shares of common stock, preferred stock, and warrants.

Upon closing, expected in Q4 2026, Superplanet will become Metaplanet’s U.S.-listed Bitcoin treasury platform. Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich stated the move transforms the company “from a Bitcoin treasury company into a global Bitcoin-native financial platform,” providing direct access to U.S. capital markets.

Metaplanet, which held 43,000 BTC as of mid-August and describes itself as the third-largest corporate Bitcoin holder, aims to operate two listed treasury platforms: one in Tokyo and one on Nasdaq. Super League’s existing advertising and media activation business will continue as a distinct operating segment under current CEO Matt Edelman.
