Ledger Halts Hardware Wallet Sales Across Southeast Asia and Hong Kong

Ledger halts sales — Ledger has requested resellers across Southeast Asia and Hong Kong to immediately suspend sales and remove its hardware wallets from shelves amid an ongoing investigation into device tampering.

The October 13 request targets distributors in Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. The action expands an earlier pause focused on a single reseller, CryptoBilis, following user reports of stolen cryptocurrency linked to purchased devices.

Ledger stated that confirmed incidents remain geographically contained to Southeast Asia, with no verified drain incidents from devices bought elsewhere. The company emphasized that its internal infrastructure, systems, services, and direct sales channels show no signs of compromise.

The investigation, which became public on October 9, is working to determine where in the distribution chain the physical tampering occurred and who is responsible. Ledger has advised users to only purchase devices through its official online store as a security precaution while the probe continues.
