Saylor Teases MicroStrategy Bitcoin Buying After $176M Stock Buyback

MicroStrategy Bitcoin buying — MicroStrategy executive chair Michael Saylor has hinted at further Bitcoin purchases by the company, following its disclosure of a $176.3 million preferred stock buyback and a $28.7 million BTC acquisition in late September.
In a post on X, Saylor wrote “There’s always room for more orange,” teasing investors awaiting news of the company’s October Bitcoin purchases. An official SEC filing detailing any new purchases is expected after Tuesday, October 13, due to the Columbus Day federal holiday.
The company ended September by adding 334 Bitcoin to its treasury at a cost of $28.7 million, bringing its total holdings to exactly 848,000 BTC. Over the same period, it spent $176.3 million to repurchase approximately 1.77 million shares of its STRC preferred stock.
Analysts note that MicroStrategy’s recent capital raises, including $5.41 billion from new common shares in Q3, may allow it to build cash reserves for future Bitcoin acquisitions. The company’s filings indicate 9.5% of the recent raise was allocated directly to Bitcoin purchases, with other funds supporting cash reserves and shareholder returns.
