Trump discloses up to $100,000 MicroStrategy stock purchase in July

MicroStrategy stock purchase — President Donald Trump disclosed purchasing between $50,001 and $100,000 worth of MicroStrategy (MSTR) stock in July, according to a U.S. Office of Government Ethics filing released on September 23, 2026.
The July 27 purchase was the largest of several crypto-linked transactions Trump reported for the month, matching the value of a prior purchase from February. The filing also showed a smaller MSTR buy on July 24 and transactions involving Coinbase stock and Bitcoin miners Marathon Digital Holdings and CleanSpark. MicroStrategy is the world’s largest publicly traded corporate holder of Bitcoin.
The disclosure comes amid a broader push by the Trump administration to advance crypto-friendly policies through federal regulators. Recent actions include a Securities and Exchange Commission exemption for limited onchain trading of tokenized stocks and a Commodity Futures Trading Commission rulemaking initiative sent for White House review.
A White House statement noted that Trump’s stock and bond portfolio is independently managed by third-party financial institutions. MicroStrategy shares have rallied nearly 30% over the past week and 37% over the past month.
