Strategy CEO Aims to Become the JPMorgan of Bitcoin

Strategy CEO Phong Le has outlined his firm’s ambition to become the ‘JPMorgan of Bitcoin,’ focusing on creating products and providing liquidity for a digital asset economy he believes could eventually serve billions of people.

In an interview, Le explained that this vision involves building a digital credit ecosystem, which he said is now roughly $15 billion in size. He emphasized that the company’s role is to create a foundational platform for other builders, stating that DeFi protocols constructing yield and tokenized products on top of Strategy’s STRC token matter more than the products the company itself ships.

Le also addressed the firm’s strategic approach to Bitcoin, describing a two-way strategy of long-term accumulation while maintaining operational flexibility. He positioned Bitcoin as a cash-adjacent asset on the balance sheet and discussed the company’s decision to prioritize share buybacks over raising its dividend.

Looking forward, Le discussed the potential growth of the digital credit platform, suggesting a path for STRC to reach a $300 billion scale through stablecoins and bank yield products. He also noted that the company is contesting its exclusion from certain financial indexes on principle.
