Reap Plans Mexican Peso Stablecoin for 24/7 Cross-Border FX Settlement

Fintech platform Reap, backed by Payward and a Visa Principal Issuer Member, is preparing to launch a Mexican peso stablecoin and exploring other non-USD tokens to enable round-the-clock foreign exchange settlement.
The Hong Kong-based company plans to integrate the peso stablecoin into its card, cross-border payment, and treasury products through its global partnership with Visa. Founder Daren Guo told CoinDesk the move aims to build a 24/7 foreign exchange platform that operates outside traditional banking hours.
Beyond the Mexican peso, Reap is also exploring stablecoins pegged to the Hong Kong dollar, euro, South Korean won, and Japanese yen. The goal is to lower costs and increase efficiency for cross-border transactions by leveraging blockchain-based settlement.
As a Visa Principal Issuer Member in Hong Kong and Mexico, Reap supports partners in over 100 markets, handling regulated card issuance, compliance, and bank relationships. The expansion into multiple fiat-pegged stablecoins represents a significant bet on the infrastructure for global digital asset payments.
