Crypto Super PAC Fairshake Commits $30M Against Sherrod Brown

Crypto Super PAC Fairshake — The crypto industry’s leading super PAC, Fairshake, has committed $30 million to oppose Senator Sherrod Brown’s (D-Ohio) 2026 re-election campaign, marking its largest political outlay of the election cycle.
The new spending will fund opposition advertisements in Ohio, echoing a similar $40 million campaign by the group that contributed to Brown’s defeat in the 2024 Senate race. Despite this significant commitment, Fairshake reportedly retains close to $100 million in funds for use in the final weeks before the November general elections.
The move underscores the crypto industry’s continued focus on influencing U.S. regulatory policy through electoral politics. Brown, who chairs the Senate Banking Committee, has been a prominent skeptic of the digital asset sector and a key figure in crafting financial legislation.
Fairshake is a major political action committee funded by crypto firms and executives, including Coinbase and venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz. Its spending highlights the industry’s strategic efforts to support candidates perceived as more favorable to its interests.
