Robinhood Crypto Trading Volume Jumps 61% in August

Robinhood crypto volume — Robinhood reported a 61% month-on-month increase in its crypto trading volume for August 2026, reaching $17.5 billion, though the figure remained 38% lower than the same period a year earlier.
The online brokerage’s monthly operating report, published Thursday, detailed that $10.1 billion of the total came from the Bitstamp exchange, which Robinhood acquired in June 2025. The remaining $7.4 billion was generated by the Robinhood app itself. Bitstamp’s volume rose 53% from July but was down 30% year-on-year.
Volume on the Robinhood app saw a sharper monthly rebound of 72%, but it fell 46% compared to August 2025. The report noted that crypto volume from the separate Robinhood Chain was not included in these figures.
In the second quarter of 2026, Bitstamp accounted for $22 billion of Robinhood’s total $40 billion crypto volume, with the app contributing $18 billion. The company’s crypto transaction revenue for Q2 fell 38% year-on-year to $100 million.
