VerifiedX Launches $15M Funding Round for Institutional Bitcoin Infrastructure

$15 million funding round — VerifiedX has launched a $15 million financing round to deploy infrastructure aimed at bringing institutional Bitcoin capital on-chain, with investment bank Cantor Fitzgerald serving as its partner.
The initial capital will fund several key initiatives, including expanding custody relationships with partners like NYSE-listed BitGo, which will hold VerifiedX’s Bitcoin-collateralized tokens. The funds will also support listings for the vBTC token and the native VFX token on tier-one centralized exchanges, with the first announcement expected within weeks.
A core part of the project is the vBTC token, which is designed to allow holders to use their Bitcoin for yield or as collateral without surrendering custody. Unlike typical wrapped Bitcoin, vBTC generates a unique, self-custodial Bitcoin address for each holder, keeping the underlying asset on the Bitcoin ledger while enabling its use across other networks like Base.
“Nearly every way to put Bitcoin to work on-chain today asks the holder to swap it for someone else’s IOU,” said Brian May of the VerifiedX Foundation, arguing that vBTC is a game-changer for turning institutional Bitcoin into productive financial capital.
