XRP Ledger Batch Upgrade Delayed to Oct. 9 After Validator Reset

XRP Ledger Batch upgrade — The XRP Ledger’s Batch upgrade has been delayed until at least Oct. 9 after validator support for the change briefly dropped below a critical threshold, resetting its activation clock.

The Batch feature would enable users to submit up to eight transactions together as a single bundle, including all-or-nothing atomic exchanges that could facilitate simultaneous payment and delivery of tokenized assets. A separate upgrade allowing account owners to delegate specific tasks without sharing private signing keys was also delayed and could activate as early as Oct. 8.

The network requires a continuous 80% support threshold from validators for two weeks before an amendment is activated. According to the report, support for the Batch upgrade briefly dipped below this level, forcing the two-week countdown to restart. If 80% support is consistently maintained, the new earliest activation date is now Oct. 9.

The delay highlights the decentralized and consensus-driven nature of upgrades on the XRP Ledger, where validator approval is mandatory for protocol changes.
