EDX Markets and VerifiedX Partner to Bring vBTC Token to Institutional Spot Trading

EDX Markets, a digital asset trading venue for institutions, has partnered with protocol layer VerifiedX to list Verified Bitcoin (vBTC), a tokenized form of Bitcoin, for spot trading, aiming to connect programmable Bitcoin capital with institutional market infrastructure.
As part of the strategic partnership announced on October 9, EDX will join the VerifiedX network as a validator, participating directly in network governance. The vBTC token is designed as a one-to-one, verifiably-backed Bitcoin asset enabled by VerifiedX’s layer-two protocol.
Jay Pollak, Head of Strategy at the VerifiedX Foundation, stated that the move connects programmable Bitcoin capital with market infrastructure built for sophisticated institutions. The partnership aims to support institutional strategies like Bitcoin trading, cross-market arbitrage, treasury management, and lending built around Bitcoin-backed capital.
The collaboration is intended to make Bitcoin capital more mobile between trading venues and programmable environments while preserving a direct redemption path to the underlying Bitcoin. EDX’s involvement as a validator provides the firm with sovereignty over the signing and governance of the vBTC under its responsibility.
