Trezor Cuts Reseller Network After Ledger Supply-Chain Attack

Trezor cuts reseller — Hardware wallet maker Trezor is reducing its number of authorized resellers as a precautionary measure following a supply-chain attack that compromised competitor Ledger’s devices.
The Prague-based company announced the move on X, stating it was a preventive step to more effectively vet its vendors. Trezor emphasized there is no evidence its own devices have been compromised.
The action follows an incident where Ledger devices sold through a Malaysia-based reseller, CryptoBilis, were found to contain unauthorized hardware implants capable of stealing seed phrases. Ledger has confirmed the implant in at least one device, while blockchain investigator Specter estimates losses of $86 million.
Ledger has advised customers who purchased from CryptoBilis not to set up their devices and to contact support. The incident is part of a broader trend of attacks targeting hardware wallets, including a $120 million theft from Coldcard users in July due to a firmware bug.
