Sui blockchain tunnels — The Sui blockchain’s offchain infrastructure has processed over 40 million transactions per second in a live stress test designed to simulate high-frequency AI agent activity.

The test, conducted on October 7, 2026, at Sui Basecamp in Singapore, saw its programmable offchain tunnels reach a peak of 40,614,180 TPS. This marks a significant increase from a similar test in July, which recorded approximately 6.1 million TPS.

More than 10,000 tunnels were opened on the Sui mainnet during the demonstration, with simulated activity spanning payments, gaming, and chat applications. These tunnels are programmable channels that process transactions offchain before settling the final state on the Sui blockchain.

Adeniyi Abiodun, co-founder of Mysten Labs, stated the network is built for a future where millions of AI agents transact daily, noting that such high throughput is designed for agent-scale activity, not human users. Independent auditor CertiK oversaw the test and is expected to release a report on the data in the coming days.
