Ripple stablecoin chief targets $13 trillion corporate treasury market for RLUSD

Ripple stablecoin chief — Ripple’s stablecoin chief has outlined a massive potential market for its upcoming RLUSD token, citing a $13 trillion opportunity in corporate treasury management as the firm plans a European expansion.

Jack McDonald, who leads the stablecoin initiative at Ripple, said the firm is focusing on payments and capital markets to drive growth for its $2.4 billion digital dollar. He highlighted the vast potential for tokenized cash equivalents within corporate finance operations.

The company is actively working to bring RLUSD to the European market under the region’s new Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulatory framework. This move would position RLUSD to compete in a key global jurisdiction with established regulatory clarity for stablecoins.

McDonald’s comments signal Ripple’s strategic intent to capture a significant share of the burgeoning market for blockchain-based treasury solutions, moving beyond its core cross-border payments use case.
