Tether Launches $400 Million Private Credit Fund with Fasanara

private credit fund — Tether, the issuer of the USDT stablecoin, is expanding into the private credit market through a new $400 million fund established in partnership with investment manager Fasanara Capital.

The collaboration will see Tether source lending opportunities for the fund while providing stablecoin payment infrastructure for Fasanara’s private credit network. This move marks a significant strategic diversification for Tether beyond its core business of managing stablecoin reserves.

The fund will focus on providing credit to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) globally, a sector often underserved by traditional banking. Tether’s involvement aims to leverage blockchain technology to streamline and enhance the efficiency of these credit transactions.

This initiative represents a deepening of Tether’s push into real-world asset (RWA) tokenization and alternative finance, following other recent investments in areas like artificial intelligence infrastructure and renewable energy.
