Ledger investigates — Hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger is investigating reports that over $86 million in cryptocurrency may have been stolen from wallets linked to devices sold by a Southeast Asian reseller, advising recent buyers not to set up their devices.

The company is investigating devices sold by reseller CryptoBilis, though the total losses and direct connection have not been independently verified. Social media posts have circulated about crypto assets being drained from Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tron addresses.

Ledger has asked CryptoBilis to halt all sales and shipments. The company advised customers who have already activated wallets from this batch to consider transferring their assets to a new device with a freshly generated recovery phrase.

A potential supply-chain attack involving tampered devices is one possible explanation being explored. The exact cause, number of affected users, and total value of losses remain unconfirmed as the investigation continues.
