Founders Fund, the venture capital firm co-founded by Peter Thiel, has led a $5 million purchase of governance tokens for the digital-asset collateral protocol Anvil.

Other participants in the token purchase include Pantera Capital, Theta Blockchain Ventures, Bullish, and Protoscale Capital. The investment coincides with Anvil’s rollout of a new software development kit designed to make its technology easier for businesses and financial institutions to integrate.

Anvil’s protocol allows users to post digital assets as collateral to guarantee financial commitments, a process distinct from traditional DeFi lending as it does not require taking out a loan or paying interest. The new toolkit aims to allow these entities to use the collateral system without needing to write blockchain code themselves.

The investment highlights continued institutional interest in infrastructure projects that bridge traditional finance with decentralized technology, focusing on practical utility for enterprises.
