Polygon Labs Completes Coinme Acquisition for US-Wide Stablecoin Payments

Coinme acquisition — Polygon Labs has finalized its acquisition of crypto cash network Coinme, a move that grants the Ethereum scaling firm a significant portfolio of state money transmitter licenses across the United States.

The acquisition brings 37 state licenses into Polygon’s ecosystem, providing regulatory coverage for its stablecoin payments infrastructure in 48 states. This network of licenses is a critical component for operating compliant money transmission services nationwide.

Polygon Labs stated that integrating Coinme’s licensed network will accelerate the development of its regulated, real-world payment solutions. The deal positions Polygon to expand its on-chain payment systems with a pre-established compliance framework.

The completion follows Polygon’s initial announcement of the acquisition plan earlier this year, marking a strategic step to bridge decentralized finance with traditional, licensed financial operations across a broad US footprint.
