CLARITY Act Could See Another Vote in Lame-Duck Congress Session

The CLARITY Act, a major crypto market structure bill, could receive another attempt at passage during the post-election lame-duck session of the U.S. Congress, according to a policy advocate.
Adrian Wall, managing director of the Digital Sovereignty Alliance, stated on September 16 that he has spoken directly with senators from both parties who are considering a final push for the legislation before the current Congress ends. He described the effort as a “long shot” but confirmed there is an appetite to try.
The comments follow a failed Senate cloture vote on September 15, which left the bill short of the 60 votes required to advance. Wall characterized that vote as a “huge blow” but not necessarily the end for the legislation.
If the lame-duck session attempt fails, Wall indicated the next Congress could take up the issue. The Digital Sovereignty Alliance is a nonprofit advocacy group focused on digital asset policy.
