OG.com Seeks CFTC Approval for Single-Stock Perpetual Futures

CFTC approval — Derivatives platform OG.com has filed with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) for approval to list cash-settled perpetual futures contracts on individual U.S. stocks.

The filing, submitted on Thursday, proposes rules for single-stock futures that would trade 24/5 and have no expiration date. OG.com was recently spun out from crypto exchange Crypto.com as an independent entity valued at $5 billion, with CEO Kris Marszalek stating plans to expand into futures and perpetual contracts.

OG.com joins a growing push by crypto and prediction market platforms to bring perpetual futures, a product pioneered in crypto, to U.S. equity markets. On September 18, Coinbase, Kraken parent Payward via Bitnomial, and prediction market Kalshi all filed similar requests with the CFTC.

The regulatory filings follow recent CFTC actions, including a case-by-case review process established in May for perpetual contracts and temporary relief granted in June allowing certain exchanges to convert existing crypto futures into contracts without expiry.
