Symbiosis recovers 15 BTC after bridge exploit, offers bounty

bridge exploit bounty — Cross-chain liquidity protocol Symbiosis Finance has recovered 15 BTC and offered a 20% bounty to the attacker responsible for a recent exploit of its Bitcoin bridge.
According to a report from blockchain security firm Blockaid, the attacker minted approximately 46.1 billion syBTC tokens during the incident. However, the exploiter was only able to realize roughly $336,000 in proceeds from the attack before the vulnerability was addressed.
Symbiosis stated that it has successfully recovered the 15 BTC, which represents a portion of the funds involved. In a public message to the attacker, the protocol offered a 20% white-hat bounty for the return of the remaining user funds and threatened to involve law enforcement if the offer is not accepted.
The exploit targeted the protocol’s syBTC synthetic Bitcoin token. The recovery and bounty offer follow a common pattern in the DeFi space where projects attempt to negotiate with hackers to return user funds and avoid protracted legal battles.
