Bitcoin Tops $86,000 as Oil and Bond Yields Decline

Bitcoin rises above $86,000 — Bitcoin traded above $86,000 on Tuesday, gaining alongside a record-setting S&P 500 as falling oil prices and bond yields eased broader market pressure.
The leading cryptocurrency reached a session high of $86,400, trading modestly higher. The move coincided with the S&P 500 index climbing 0.6% to 7,821, marking its first all-time high since August, with tech and healthcare stocks leading gains.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil fell sharply, dropping 2.3% to below $87.40 per barrel, its lowest price since late August. Similarly, a key benchmark for diesel fuel prices declined approximately 15% from a record high hit three weeks prior.
The concurrent retreat in energy prices and bond yields provided a supportive macro backdrop for risk assets. Analysts noted that for Bitcoin, a sustained slide below the $84,000 level could shift momentum to sellers and open a path toward $80,000.
