Binance Hack Haul Exceeds Tesla’s Bitcoin Holdings

Binance hack — A recent hack of Binance resulted in the theft of 18,270 BTC, a haul valued at approximately $1.4 billion that surpasses the Bitcoin holdings of major corporations and nations.
The stolen amount is greater than the Bitcoin reserves held by Tesla and is more than double the holdings of El Salvador’s national treasury. The haul also comes within 442 Bitcoin of the disclosed holdings of SpaceX.
Blockchain investigators have attributed the sophisticated attack to actors linked to North Korea. The scale of the theft highlights the persistent security challenges facing even the largest cryptocurrency exchanges.
The incident underscores the significant value now concentrated in digital asset platforms and the high stakes involved in securing these funds against advanced, state-sponsored threats.
