stablecoins gaining ground — A new industry survey published on October 22, 2026, indicates stablecoins are moving decisively from experimentation to mainstream implementation as a corporate payment tool.

EY-Parthenon’s 2026 Blockchain Payments Survey of 521 corporate and financial institution decision-makers found that 18% of corporates have already used stablecoins for payments. The data points to a market gaining significant ground in enterprise adoption, shifting the debate from whether stablecoins will be used to how they will scale.

The analysis suggests that for stablecoin payment rails to achieve full-scale adoption, they must overcome critical hurdles in scalability and interoperability. The winning infrastructure will need to seamlessly connect with existing financial systems while delivering on the promised benefits of speed, lower cost, and improved liquidity.

The report was featured in CoinDesk’s “Crypto for Advisors” newsletter, highlighting the growing relevance of digital assets for financial professionals and their corporate clients.
