VanEck Withdraws Application for Lido Staked Ether ETF

Lido staked Ether ETF — Asset manager VanEck has formally withdrawn its application for a Lido staked Ether (stETH) exchange-traded fund, shelving a product filed with regulators last year.
In an SEC filing on October 14, 2026, VanEck Digital Assets stated it “does not intend to proceed with the planned distribution” of the trust’s shares. The firm did not provide a reason for the decision or indicate if it would pursue a similar product.
VanEck initially filed the S-1 registration statement for the fund on October 16, 2025. The proposed ETF was designed to hold Lido staked Ether, giving investors exposure to the liquid staking token and its accrued staking rewards.
The withdrawal marks a step back for institutional crypto investment products tied to Ethereum‘s staking ecosystem, though other asset managers continue to pursue various digital asset ETFs.
