MicroStrategy Buys $21.5M in BTC to Boost Corporate Treasury

Strategy-MSTR-scaled-1

MicroStrategy Buys Bitcoin — MicroStrategy has purchased an additional $21.5 million worth of Bitcoin, bringing its total holdings to over 848,000 BTC. The Nasdaq-listed firm acquired 250 bitcoins between October 5 and 11, 2026, continuing its aggressive treasury strategy.

According to a Monday filing, the purchases were funded using net proceeds from MSTR stock sales and the company’s designated “USD Cash” buffer. The firm also announced spending $192.4 million to repurchase its STRC preferred stock.

As of October 11, the company now holds 848,250 bitcoins, a position valued at approximately $70.2 billion based on current prices. MicroStrategy’s stock (MSTR) traded nearly 2% higher following the announcement.

The buy marks a return to a more regular accumulation pattern after months of sporadic activity as the company built its cash reserves. MicroStrategy, which began buying Bitcoin in 2020 as an inflation hedge, has since pivoted to operating primarily as a Bitcoin treasury, offering investors exposure to the cryptocurrency through its shares and yield-paying digital credit products.
