Crypto PACs — Affiliates of the crypto-focused Fairshake political action committee have reported spending $2.7 million on media buys to support candidates running for the US House of Representatives with just weeks left before the 2026 midterm elections.

The filings with the Federal Election Commission over the weekend show expenditures by the Defend American Jobs and Protect Progress PACs, both Fairshake affiliates. The spending targets several incumbent lawmakers who voted for the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act in 2025.

Notable recipients include House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, who received over $76,000 in support, House Agriculture Committee Chair Glenn Thompson ($73,000), California Representative Pete Aguilar ($512,000), and New Jersey Representative Josh Gottheimer ($500,000).

The midterm push comes after the CLARITY Act, a significant market structure bill for crypto, passed the House but failed a procedural vote in the Senate. Fairshake, which reportedly had $122 million on hand as of August, is aiming to elect more “pro-crypto” candidates and opposes figures like former banking committee chair Sherrod Brown.
