Coinbase’s Jesse Pollak Predicts Tokenization Supercycle Led by Equities

Coinbase‘s Jesse Pollak forecasts a major ‘tokenization supercycle’ will be driven by equities and non-dollar stablecoins, citing strong initial volume for tokenized stocks on the Base network.
Pollak, who leads Base and Coinbase’s onchain products, revealed that tokenized stock offerings launched on Base just six weeks ago are already generating between $70 million and $100 million in daily trading volume. He made the comments during a recent public discussion on the future of tokenization.
The executive argued that while real-world asset (RWA) tokenization has gained significant attention, the next major wave of adoption will be propelled by the onchain representation of traditional equities. He positioned this alongside the growth of stablecoins not pegged to the U.S. dollar as a key trend.
Pollak’s vision for the ‘supercycle’ suggests a broadening of the crypto ecosystem beyond native digital assets to encompass a wider array of financial instruments, with centralized platforms like Coinbase playing a pivotal role in bridging traditional and decentralized finance.
